12.12.1 Choir Between Voices

The Entrevoces Choir, a chamber choral group belonging to the National Choir of Cuba, was created by maestro Digna Guerra Ramírez in 1981.
Entrevoces’ repertoire includes works from all musical periods and styles, ranging from Spanish, English, and Italian Renaissance polyphony to contemporary music; the latter is represented by Latin American folklore and Cuban music in its full spectrum.
The CD Que rico é, a 2001 recording by Digna Guerra and the Entrevoces Choir, under the Cuban record label Unicornio, is composed of a repertoire of works by Cuban composers.
They have toured extensively, achieving significant success, and have performed at choral festivals in Cuba and abroad, where they have won numerous awards.
They participated in the 29th Tolosa Choral Mass Competition, Spain, in 1997. At this competition, they received several awards: First Prize and Gold Trophy in the Secular Music category, Second Prize and Silver Trophy in the Sacred Music category, and the Audience Award.
At the Havana Chamber Music Competition, they won the award for best performance of Cuban music.
They have shared the stage with similar groups, such as the Venezuelan Vocal Group Oktempo, who performed at the José Félix Ribas Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theater.
