Lázara Ribadavia, a prominent Cuban singer-songwriter, was born on May 4, 1966, in Havana. Although she graduated in Philosophy from the M. Lomonosov Moscow State University, she always felt a special calling for music, which led her to pursue musical studies with Professor Leopordina Nuñez Lacret, a teacher highly regarded for her direct impact on the development of talented Cuban musicians of different generations.
This Cuban singer has the gift of placing in her excellent voice songs with beautiful messages that she nuances with a mixture of tenderness and sensuality in a genuine combination of traditional Trova and Feeling.
Her artistic career has included participation in important musical events such as the International Seminar “Cuban Trova from its Origins to the Present,” convened and organized by the prestigious Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez, the Festival of the Authors’ Foundation (SGAE) Féminas, the Day of Music in Paris, and the Barnasants Singer-Songwriter Festival in Barcelona, among others.
Well known in Cuba for her performances on various national stages, Lázara Ribadavia has also taken her music to the international stage through tours in countries including Ecuador, Russia, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and Portugal.
