12.19.21 Alain Daniel.

Alain Daniel Pico Roque, renowned Cuban singer, was born on August 27, 1977, in Havana. He has a strong artistic influence from his family, primarily his grandparents and aunts and uncles, including his grandmother, former director of the trio “Las Hermanas Carmen.”

Alain Daniel’s musical knowledge was based at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory (Calle Rastro No. 1, Habana Vieja, Havana). After completing his studies, the talented young man traveled to Mexico where he began working with a Mexican group.

Throughout his professional career, he has accumulated diverse artistic experiences, having had the pleasure of working with various groups such as La Constelación, Roberto Javier and his group, Conexión Salsera, and participating in the rap-salsa project Estilo Fantástico. He was a member of the General Society of Authors of Spain (SGAE), where he began composing and producing albums in Cuba with Dagoberto González Jr. and some of the musicians who worked with Pablo Milanés. Thanks to this, he was able to record with the famous Puerto Rican Lucecita Benítez, whose most recent album, titled “Renacer,” includes a song written by the Cuban musician.

Between 1997 and 2000, Alain Daniel performed regularly at the Cabaret Parisién in the Hotel Nacional de Cuba (Oth Street, corner of 21st Street, Vedado, Plaza de la Revolución, Havana). Later, at the invitation of his personal friend Lazarito Valdés, he joined one of the most popular and well-known groups in all of Cuba, Bamboleo. There, he inevitably achieved a pivotal role as a singer and composer. Many of his songs, such as “El Chisme,” “Mi Negra tiene Boom Boom,” and “El Zorreo,” placed the orchestra at the pinnacle of Cuban popularity.

Alain Daniel had already been performing solo work and due to a number of commitments of this type, he found it necessary to leave Bamboleo and form his new group called “Alain Daniel y su New Casino” with which he debuted on August 7, 2005, at the Casa de la Música de Miramar (Calle 20 No. 3308, Miramar, Playa. Havana).

The group’s repertoire includes, in addition to songs written by Alain Daniel, many songs by the popular Cuban singer “Manolín, the Doctor of Salsa.” To date, he has continued composing and producing solo albums. His most recent release was an album for Duani Antonio, featuring former Los Van Van singer Pedrito Calvo as a special guest. Alain Daniel also composed all the songs on the album.
