Aceituna sin Hueso, a prominent Cuban-flamenco fusion group from Villa Clara, has aroused the admiration of musicians, specialists, and critics. The group’s creation was the brainchild of vocalist and director Miriela Moreno. On February 19, 2000, they performed their first show at the “Venga la esperanza” concert organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association.
In 2003, they recorded a hit that catapulted them to popularity: “Marginales.com,” the title track of their debut CD. The video for this song was a huge success and won the most awards at the Lucas Awards in Cuba held that same year.
Karamba, a well-known Cuban musical band, was founded in 2003 in Havana by its director, Jorge Luis Robaina. Vocal Gitano’s is a group founded on November 1, 2004. It represents a young, choreographic format that cultivates various genres, blending foreign sounds with Cuban roots. In 2005, this new vocal group was the musical star of the Sixth Imagen de Cristal.
