Mediterráneo, a prominent Cuban reggaeton group, is one of the most well-known and followed groups among Cuban youth. The group emerged in the country’s capital and is led by Roberto Estobal López, who is also the group’s composer par excellence; he was born on September 24, 1979. He also studied singing and piano for a period of four years, as a foundation for his career. He has directed several videos and musical productions, as well as soundtracks for numerous radio and TV programs, films, and short films.
This group fuses their core genre, in this case reggaeton, with other genres, giving their work an authentic feel. As a group, they have toured Europe, especially Spain, earning a place among audiences in those regions.
Mediterráneo has maintained a stable performance schedule since its founding, and has now accumulated over 640 concerts, nearly a hundred of which have been held outside the country.
The light reggaeton of this group has been very well received, as evidenced by their most recent album, Bien Pegao, which was released in 2010, preceding their album from the previous year, Tú Eres.
