12.12.5 Euterpe Chorus

Euterpe, a prominent Cuban chamber choir, was founded in 1993 by talented musicians in Las Tunas. Its fundamental objective is to promote and revive the tradition of this musical expression in the eastern Cuban province. The group’s repertoire includes works from the 15th century and extends to the most popular and avant-garde of the island’s music, without excluding Latin and Caribbean rhythms.
Since its founding, this renowned choir has embarked on an accelerated artistic career within the province of Las Tunas, participating in the most significant national and international events held there. Examples include the Cucalambeana Conference, the Sculpture Biennial, the Book Fair, national and international environmental workshops, and concert days, all part of the Nicolás Guillén Chair Foundation.
Euterpe has also performed throughout the Cuban archipelago in various concert halls, including the Sala Dolores in Santiago de Cuba (Aguilera and Reloj Streets, Santiago de Cuba), the Amadeo Roldán Theater (Calzada and D, Vedado, Plaza de la Revolución, Havana), the Sala Lecuona of the Gran Teatro de la Habana (Paseo Martí No. 458, Old Havana, Havana), the National Museum of Music (Obrapía No. 512, Old Havana, Havana), and they have also performed in various venues in the eastern provinces of Holguín and Granma.
This young Cuban group has received numerous awards and is also a member of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS).
Euterpe’s work has also been featured on national television, as well as in programming from her province, Tunas Visión. She was featured in a video clip produced in collaboration with several artists from Las Tunas. The print media has also mentioned Euterpe’s work in publications such as Quehacer magazine and the newspapers 26 and Granma.
