12.21.3 Andy Gola


Andy Gola, Cuban composer, guitarist, orchestra conductor, producer, and artistic director, was born on April 9, 1954, in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba. Among his personal characteristics, we can mention that he is a cheerful, hospitable, and smiling man.

He completed his musical studies at the Ignacio Cervantes Professional Training School in Havana. There, he received classes in orchestration and musical conducting, among other areas.

Throughout his artistic career, Gola has been a member of groups such as Revé and 440. Andy Gola currently serves as director of the orchestra, founded in 1990, Colé Colé, also known as La Salsa Caribe Súper. With the orchestra, he presents a diverse repertoire filled with Cuban and Caribbean rhythms.

Gola, along with Colé Colé, has performed on numerous stages around the world, giving concerts and participating in international music events and festivals. These include Spain, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Colombia. In many of these countries, he has received awards and recognition for his work.

His record production includes titles such as Te traigo Lo Que te, Colé Colé live in Havana, and Colé Colé in Colombia.

Andy Gola has been awarded the highest artistic recognition by the Cuban Ministry of Culture.
