13.6.9 Caimán Rock Festival

The Caimán Rock Festival is organized by the renowned Cuban institution that brings together young intellectuals, the Hermanos Saíz Association, under the auspices of the Cuban Music Institute and its Cuban Rock Agency.
It is considered the most important rock event in Cuban music. The event’s organizing committee is made up of accredited rock musicians, journalists, and genre specialists.
The fifth edition of the Caimán Rock Festival took place in July 2011, celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Hermanos Saíz Association. Its venues were Pabexpo and Maxim Rock. Activities included album launches, theoretical sessions, and art exhibitions related to the genre.
The best bands from all over Cuba who cultivate the genre, a total of twenty, gathered here, in addition to three Latin American groups.
Among them we can mention Tesis de Menta, Anima Mundi, Zeus, Tendencia, Rice & Beans, Dead Point, Kill the Fish, Combat Noise, Piraña (Mexico), Ancestor, Médula, Dana, Cancerbero and Claim, Agonizer, Escape, Hipnosis, Blinder, Cry out For, Grinder Carnage, Hot Zone, Chlover, Estigma DC, Congregation, Metastasys, Unlight Domain and Switch.
Among the fundamental objectives pursued by the Cuban Rock Party is to facilitate exchanges between the best Cuban and foreign bands and to promote this type of music. It also allows rock-loving audiences the opportunity to see their favorite bands and the most popular bands live.
