13.12.1 Ashé of Cuba


Ashé de Cuba, a prominent Cuban popular music group founded in 2000 under the name Latinshow. Since its founding, it has been comprised of young, academically trained musicians. Today, its roster includes musicians ranging in age from twenty to thirty. Its members total thirteen.

The instrumental format of this Cuban orchestra is made up of two trumpets, a trombone, a saxophone, drums with timpani, congas and minor percussion, piano with keyboards, bass and vocals.

The repertoire they perform showcases genres such as Songo, Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, and especially Cuban Timba.

In its early years, Ashé de Cuba toured Europe several times. In 2001, it made its first tour to Spain, visiting cities such as Salamanca, Madrid, Barcelona, ​​and others. From 2002 to 2005, the group returned to Germany, where it resided and toured throughout Europe.

Her album, Déjame entrar, was released in 2003. She also participated in major festivals, including the Latin American Festival of Milan, held in 2004.

Throughout his life, Ashé de Cuba has shared the stage with prominent international music figures and groups, such as Wilfrido Vargas, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Bonny M, and Aventura.

In 2006 the group disbanded, and months later the management was taken over by its current director.
