13.13.5 Dairán Perdomo Mariño

Dairán Perdomo Mariño is a young Cuban singer and orchestra conductor, born on April 2, 1982, in Havana. At the age of 9, he embarked on his artistic career, participating in festivals of the OPJM and later the FEEM, achieving several first places there. Later, he joined a Cuban-Mexican company, singing solo pieces and performing duets with renowned figures in Cuban music.
At the House of Culture in Old Havana, he studied guitar and later took percussion classes at the Guanabacoa Conservatory of Music. During this time, he remained associated with the great Teatro de La Habana, taking lessons in music theory and singing.
In 1997, Dairán Perdomo founded a group called “Nueva Imagen,” of which he was the vocalist and director. A year later, he was considered to join the “Adolfo Guzmán” company. Also in 1998, he won first prize at the “Joseíto Fernández” Festival.
With “Nueva Imagen” he performed at the 2001 and 2002 editions of the Cubadisco Festival, in Morro-Cabaña Park and at PABEXPO, respectively.
Dairán Perdomo has performed on radio and TV programs and in prestigious Havana nightclubs: Habana Café, Club Imágenes, El Gato Tuerto, Club La Zorra y el Cuervo, La Macumba, Casa de La Música Habana, Casa de La Música Miramar, among others.
He has given concerts in several provinces, including Santiago de Cuba, Camagüey, Matanzas, Pinar del Río, and the Isle of Youth. He has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with prestigious Cuban musicians, including Juan Formel, David Calzado, Paulo FG, José Luis Cortes, Lázaro Valdez, Compay Segundo, and Omara Portuondo.
He currently serves as the director and lead singer of the Los Ángeles de la Habana orchestra, founded in 2002. The orchestra has already released three albums, accompanied by five music videos and a DVD. In 2004, they participated in the Cubadisco Festival, nominated for their album “24 kilates.”
In 2008, they performed in Portugal and shared the stage with David Bisbal. They have also visited Latin American countries such as Peru and Mexico.
Dairán Perdomo is a young Cuban musician who, with his great talent, has earned the respect and admiration of the Cuban public.
