He began his first performances in 1987, where he unveiled his first compositions. Through his relaxed poetry, he addresses diverse and questionable themes that invite reflection. His works are influenced by Cuban musical genres such as bolero, feeling, and traditional Cuban music.

Fernando Becquer has performed on numerous stages throughout his artistic career and has participated in important musical events, including the Cuba Vive International Solidarity Festival in 1995 and Music Bridge in 1999.

He has had the opportunity to share the stage with important figures in Cuban culture, such as Compay Segundo, Giraldo Piloto, Manuel Argudín, the Septeto Nacional Ignacio Piñeiro, Gary Burr, Amy Ray, and Jorge García; he has also performed with comedians Marcos García and Joel Sánchez; poets Antonio López and Sergio Gómez; and troubadours of his generation, including Ariel Díaz, Samuel Águila, Ihosvany Bernal, and Diego Cano. He has performed with several artists in Germany.

His discography includes the album El negro de tu vida, produced by renowned Cuban musicians Pablo Milanés and Raúl Torres. This album features thirteen tracks, some well-known and others brand new.

A significant portion of Fernando Becquer’s musical work has been captured on the cassettes Cuatro maneras de mirar (Four Ways of Looking) (1998), Antología (Anthology) (1999), and La impudica es la guitarra (The Impudic is the Guitar) (2000); all recorded live and produced by the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Cultural Center. He also collaborated on the album Pueden jueves (Definitely Thursday), featuring several artists who performed poems by Waldo Leyva.
