13.23.3 Latin Accent.

Acento Latino, a prominent Cuban musical group, emerged on February 16, 2003, in the city of Santa Clara. Initially, the group consisted of four members: William Lara García, Isvany Ciscal Pérez, Yainel Feitó Bello, and its director, Eliar Martínez Noriega. They undertook the task of developing their own style by cultivating Latin genres and fusing them with more current rhythms.
Throughout their career, this group’s repertoire has included genres such as salsa, ballads, bachata, merengue, electronic music, and hip-hop. This group is widely followed by Cuban youth and has had the opportunity to work alongside highly talented musicians and groups such as El Chacal, El Micha, Techno Caribe, Manolito Simonet, Baby Lores, Eddy K, Tania Pantoja, David Blanco, Osmani García, Mayito Rivera, Candyman, Vania, among others.
Acento Latino has repeatedly topped the charts of many radio programs dedicated to Cuban music. They have also had significant appearances on television programs such as Piso 6, La noche favorita, and Súper 12.
In 2007, the Cuban label BIS Music released an album titled El Gremio, featuring the country’s best reggaeton groups and soloists. This Cuban group performed two of their most famous songs: Déjala que llore and Soy yo. This album was nominated for the 2007 Cubadisco Award in the Rap/Dance/Hip-Hop category for its positive impact on audiences.
Acento Latino’s most recent work was released in 2010, produced by Javier Conde, and its most famous songs include “Te Gusto Yo,” “La Gargantilla,” and “Dímelo.” By this time, the group had already parted ways with William “El Magnífico” Lara, who had already embarked on a solo career.
