Triángulo Oscuro, a Cuban rap group, was founded in 1997. That same year, they had the opportunity to participate in the Havana Rap Festival, an event where they stood out among more than 120 groups of the genre and managed to win fourth place. Since their inception, they have become one of the favorite groups among young Cubans, a popularity that has led them to perform throughout Cuba.
This young and talented group has been able to inspire audiences to dance as well as listen to the lyrics of their songs. The group Triángulo Oscuro has a tremendous ability to achieve a fusion of Cuban rap with other lively Caribbean rhythms such as salsa, kizomba, cumbia, rumba, mambo, conga, merengue, reggae, samba, and son.
Their first album, released in 2001 under the Cuban label EGREM, was titled “A mueve” (Get Moving), the track on this CD. It includes the title track, which was used as the theme song for the youth television program A Moverse.
Four years later, under the same music label, they recorded the CD “Dechava’o,” where they offer a little more hip hop and reggaeton.
“A tronco” was the title of their third album, released in 2006, and it was a work that delved into the aspect of fusion, a mix that continued to mark Triángulo Oscuro’s work.
Her latest album, titled “Sin Miedo,” has been a huge success, placing songs at the top of the Cuban charts and also in some Latin American and Caribbean countries.
