13.32 Isabelle Hernández Martínez. Outstanding Cuban musicologist.

Isabelle Hernández Martínez is a distinguished Cuban musicologist born in 1972 in Havana. Since 1998, she has worked as Leo Brower’s assistant and manager. She completed her studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) (1110 Calle 120 between 9th and 13th, Cubanacán, Playa, Havana) in 2002, graduating with a Gold Degree.
Since 2005, she has worked as Artistic Director of Leo Brower’s Office and Director of the Publishing and Record Label: Ediciones Espiral Eterna, based in Havana.
Isabelle Hernández has been the Artistic Director of the Leo Brower Festival of Contemporary Music in Havana since its first edition in 2009. Throughout her career, she has given lectures and written articles for both national and international magazines, program and album notes, book prologues, and essays.
She has conducted research on a variety of topics, including: Women Guitarists in Cuba, the Work of Carlo Borbolla, Cuban Electroacoustic Music, and various monographic studies on Ibero-American composers.
